At the weekly Cabinet meeting today, (Wednesday), 07.06.94:

1. The Government, acting in accordance with the Basic Law: The Government, appointed Minister David Liba’i as Minister of the Interior, in place of Minister Uzi Baram. (David Liba’i will continue to serve as Minister of Justice, and Uzi Baram as Minister of Tourism.)

Until the decision is approved by the Knesset, as required by law, Minister Liba’i will serve as Acting Interior Minister.

2. The Government decided to initial the draft comprehensive economic and political agreement between Israel and the European Union, on the basis of a proposal by the EU Commission, and subject to conditions that were detailed in the decision.
