(Communicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman)

Tonight, an El-Al plane will fly to Turkey with a shipment of 75 tents, aid to the victims of the earthquake which struck on October 2.

When notified of the tragedy, Israel offered humanitarian assistance by way of the Turkish Ambassador. The Turkish Authorities informed Israel that it suffered from a serious lack of good quality tents to guard against the harsh weather that prevails in the area at this time of year.

In a joint decision of the Foreign Ministry and the IDF, it was decided to immediately respond to their request, but due to Yom Kippur carrying it out was postponed for two days. El-Al flew the supplies to Anatolia

(flight 595, that departed at 10:00 P.M.) and the local authorities will transfer the shipment (more than 5.5 tons) to the earthquake region.
