At the weekly Cabinet meeting today (Sunday), 18.1.98:
1. The Cabinet approved the appointment of Mr. Zvi Magen as ambassador in Moscow. Mr. Magen currently serves as Israeli ambassador to Ukraine, and as non-resident ambassador to Moldova.
2. The Cabinet decided to approve the appointment of rabbis and public figures to the voting assembly for the elections to the council of the Israeli Chief Rabbinate.
3. On the Prime Minister’s return from the United States, the Government of Israel will consider the implications of Further Redeployment (FRD) up to the limit defined by Israel’s vital national interests.
The FRD is conditioned on the implementation of the Palestinian commitments on the basis of reciprocity, as articulated in the "Note for the Record" and in accordance with previous cabinet decisions.
