Foreign Ministry Welcomes Declaration by EU Foreign Ministers Council

The Israel Foreign Ministry today (Wednesday) 11.11.98, welcomes the declaration by the European Union Foreign Ministers Council published on 9.11.98, which expresses the need to move the peace process forward on all channels, and gives preference to People to People (PTP) programs and confidence building measures. Israel considers the strong condemnation of terrorism and the willingness to examine ways to give political and economic aid for the implementation of the Wye Memorandum to be important. Israel also welcomes Austrian Foreign Minister Wolfgang Schuessel, the current president of the Foreign Ministers Council, on his upcoming visit to Israel in two days time.
