PM NETANYAHU MOURNS DEATH OF ZVULUN HAMMER

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning (Tuesday) 20.1.98, expressed his sorrow at the death of Education Minister Zvulun Hammer. The Prime Minister said that the government and the whole nation bows its head in mourning and deep sadness at the tragic death of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Culture Zvulun Hammer. Zvulun Hammer was one of the central pillars of the national revival of the Jewish People in the Land of Israel. His path was full of love for Israel, and for the eternal values of the Jewish People, which he labored, as Education Minister, to bequeath to a whole generation of youth he educated in Israel. He combined in his personality, depth of thought, grace and regard for his fellow man and enjoyed the respect and support of all sections of the nation.

CABINET MOURNS ZVULUN HAMMER

The Government of Israel today (Tuesday) 20.1.98, announces with deep sorrow the death of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Culture and Sport, and Minister for Religious Affairs Zvulun Hammer. The Cabinet will meet for a special memorial session today. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
