FM Levy Meets Bundestag President Thierse

Foreign Minister David Levy this morning (Tuesday) 16.11.99 met Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse to discuss the peace process and advancing bilateral economic relations. The Foreign Minister expressed the great importance Israel places on the "special relations" between Israel and Germany.

The Foreign Minister raised his concern over Iran’s policies towards the peace process and its massive support for terrorist organizations. He also expressed his evaluation that Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat could eliminate the terrorist infrastructure in the territories and that there is a need for cooperation on this matter.
