FM Sharon Meets Senegal FM Baudin

Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon today (Monday) 29.3.99, met with Sengal Foreign Minister Jacques Baudin. The two ministers discussed current bilateral relations and ways to expand them, using European Union and interantional aid to fund Israeli projects in Senegal. Sharon noted Senegal’s balanced approach towards Israel on Middle East issues in international forums, even while Senegal is chairman of the al-Quds Committee at the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC). Minister Baudin said that Senegal is pleased from the cooperation between the two countries, especially in agriculture as well as with the operations of Israeli shipping and telecommunications companies. He noted Senegal’s traditional friendship with Israel and extended an inviataion for Minister Sharon to visit Senegal which was welcomed.
