Hong Kong Chief Executive to Visit Israel

Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa will, between 31.1-3.2.99, make an official visit to Israel at the invitation of Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon and in coordination with Industry and Trade Ministry’s Chief Scientist’s Office.

Mr. Tung will meet with President Ezer Weizman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Sharon, Industry and Trade Minister Natan Sharansky and Bank of Israel Governor Jacob Frenkel. He will also visit Yad Vashem and the grave of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

During his visit, Mr. Tung will participate in a joint seminar with the Chief Scientist’s Office on the issue of "Government Support for Research and Development". He will visit various high-tech projects and the Weizmann Institute.
