Israeli Ambassador to Hungary Yoel Allon yesterday (Tuesday), 26.10.99, in Sarajevo, presented his credentials as Israel’s first ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina since the two countries formally established diplomatic relations on 26.9.97.

This month, the Bosnian government presented a letter in which it asked that Israel accept the appointment of Daniel Abraham Romano as its ambassador to Israel; Israel has since acceded to this request. Mr. Romano is a university professor of mathematics in Banja-Luka, where he was a former chairman of the local Jewish community.
