FM Ben-Ami to Visit Scandinavia

Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami will leave tomorrow (November 30) on a visit to the Scandinavian countries. The visit to Sweden takes place on the eve of Sweden’s assumption of the EU Presidency (January 2001). Ben-Ami will meet in Stockholm with Swedish Prime Minister Goran Person and with Foreign Minister Anna Lindh.

In Norway, FM Ben-Ami will meet with Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and with Foreign Minster Thorbjorn Jagland, who is a member of the fact-finding committee to examine the events in the region agreed upon at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit.

In Denmark, Ben-Ami will meet with Prime Minster Poul Nyrup Rasmusen and with Foreign Minister Nils Petersan.

In the course of his meetings, Foreign Minister Ben-Ami will update his colleagues on the recent political develoments in the region.
