Levy to Lead Israeli Delegation to Multilateral Talks

January 30, 2000

Israel Foreign Minister David Levy is departing today (30 Jan) for Moscow, heading the Israeli delegation to the meeting of the Multilateral Negotiations Steering Committee, which will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2000.

Tomorrow, Foreign Minister Levy will conduct a number of meetings in Moscow, among them, with US Secretary of State Albright and Egyptian Foreign Minister Moussa, who will also be heading their countries’ delegations to the Moscow session.

Israel views the Multilateral negotiations as an important element in the comprehensive peace process in the Middle East, and their renewal on Tuesday in Moscow is the result, among other factors, of a continuing Israeli diplomatic effort directed by Minister Levy over the past year.
