Visit of Belarus Foreign Minister

The Foreign Minister of Belarus, Ural Latypov, will visit Israel between April 10-12. In the course of his visit, he will meet with President Weizman, Foreign Minister Levy, the Minister for Regional Cooperation Peres and Interior Minister Sharansky.

During Mr. Latypov’s meeting with Foreign Minister Levy, the ministers will sign two important agreements that are essential to the continuation of Israeli educational and cultural activity among the Jewish community of Belarus, and to the regular activity of the Israeli Cultural Centre operating under the auspices of the Embassy in Minsk. These agreements will also consolidate the cooperation between the governments in the spheres of education, science and culture. In addition, they will sign two economic agreements: the protection of investments and prevention of tax duplication.

The Foreign Minister of Belarus will visit Yad Vashem, and will lay a wreath in memory of the 800,000 Jews of Belarus who were killed in the Holocaust.
