Cabinet Communique
At the weekly Cabinet meeting today (Sunday), 30.9.2001:

1. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon referred to the personal attacks on cabinet ministers by other ministers and demanded that they stop. Prime Minister Sharon said: "We are all committed to each other’s honor." The Prime minister added that there can be differences of opinion within the government and every minister can express his opinion, but the attacks on ones neighbor in the government must stop. "Let us learn what is unity from the United States," said the Prime Minister. "We are in the middle of a difficult battle, and I am asking from every minister that they respect their colleagues’ opinions even if they don’t agree with them.

2. The Cabinet approved the creation of a Ministerial Committee for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee headed by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The committee will work in the following areas: Advancement and improvement of infrastructures and the economic development of the Negev and the Galilee by, among other methods, encouragement of investors to invest in these areas, strengthening and enlargement of settlement in the area and creation of new communities, creation of new jobs and business development, creation of the necessary infrastructure for economic development and in addition to these issues that will bring the development and flourishing of the communities in the Negev and Galilee, advancement of the Bedouin sector in the Negev and Galilee.
