Conference of Latin American Export Institutes

A conference with the participation of heads of Latin American export institutes and organizations for the promotion of international trade will take place between June 4-6, in Tel Aviv. The Conference will be convened on the joint initiative of the Foreign Ministry and the Israel Export Institute. Representatives from twelve countries in Central and South America will attend the Conference.

The Conference will focus on practical aspects of economic and trade relations between Israel and Latin American countries. In the course of the Conference, the participants will hear presentations by the heads of the economic organizations in Israel and there will be meetings between industrialists and entrepreneurs that are active in various spheres in Latin America. In addition, the participants will visit various plants and research institutes.

In the year 2000, the volume of trade between Israel and the Latin American states stood at $1.65 billion. Israeli exports totalled $887 million, and the imports totalled $771 million.
