Families of Israeli Abduction Victims Meet with German FM Fischer

On Sunday (June 3), the families of the abducted soldiers and the family of abduction victim Elhanan Tenenboim met with German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer. In the meeting, the families spoke of their pain and the fact that in the eight months since the abduction of their loved ones, they had not received any information about their situation.

The families thanked the Minister for the efforts of the German government, and requested him to continue the humanitarian effort, with the aim of obtaining information on their loved ones and achieving their release.

Mr. Fischer stated that he was personally moved by the suffering of the families. The Minister also said that he was familiar with the details of the case, and promised that he would personally make every effort with all the influential parties, in order to achieve progress on this painful issue.

Earlier, the Minister met with Rina Haver, the mother of the missing soldier Guy Haver. He also held a separate meeting with the family of Ron Arad.
