FM Peres meets with Foreign Minister of Cyprus

During a working meeting with the Foreign Minister of Cyprus, Ioannis Kasoulides, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Peres said that in effect, Israel proposes the implementation of all issues that are agreed upon between Israel and the Palestinians, and that the remaining differences will be discussed in negotiations.

Peres added, "We expect a long journey with many disappointments and pain that will require inner fortitude and unity. Ultimately, though, we will accomplish peace that will provide us with security."

Mr. Kasoulides stated that his country supports the effort to achieve peace: "We are aware of the disappointment of the Israeli public regarding the rejection of Clinton’s proposals by the Palestinian Authority."
