FM Peres meets with US Dep Asst Secretary Satterfield

Foreign Minister Peres met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State David Satterfield to discuss ways for bringing about a cessation of the violence and resumption of the political process.

FM Peres told the American envoy that Israel had not changed the status of Abu Dis, which had been under Israel’s security control. The Foreign Minister also stated that Israel has no intention of confiscating the Orient House’s land, which is private land. He added that Israel is committed to easing the situation in the territories. The Foreign Minister also noted that "instead of statements, it is better to work quietly and then reality can speak for itself".
