FM Peres to Visit Britain

Foreign Minister Shimon Peres leaves this afternoon (July 17) for a two-day visit to Britain.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Peres will meet with the British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, and will update them on the recent developments in the region, as well as discuss bilateral issues.

In addition, Foreign Minister Peres will appear before members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and will meet with leaders of the Jewish community.

This is the first visit of Foreign Minister Peres to London since the present Government in Israel was established and the British general elections held in May.
