Israel-Lithuania Political Dialogue

The Foreign Ministries of Israel and Lithuania will hold a political dialogue on Wednesday May 2, at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem. The Israeli delegation to the political dialogue will be headed by Deputy Director General for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS, Mr. David Peleg, and the Lithuanian delegation will be led by the Head of the Bilateral Department of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, Mr. Aurimas Taurantas.

The Senior Deputy Director General of the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Yoav Biran, will meet separately with Mr. Taurantas.

This is the first political dialogue between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1991. The discussions will focus on bilateral and multilateral issues and the exchange of ideas regarding ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all spheres.

In addition, they will discuss Jewish issues relating to the common history of the two peoples, among them, the prosecution of war criminals.
