|Meeting of Israeli Ambassadors to Africa|

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and the Director General of the Foreign Ministry, Avi Gil, will open today (June 18) in Jerusalem a meeting of Israeli Ambassadors to Africa. Eleven Israeli Ambassadors serving on the continent will participate in the meeting. The Ambassadors are accredited to 40 African states, from south of the Sahara, with which Israel has diplomatic relations.
During the forum, the Ambassadors will meet with the President of Israel and the Deputy Foreign Minister.
In the course of the meeting, discussions will be held on diplomatic issues and various aspects of Israeli-African relations.
The Mashav Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs implements extensive aid programmes in all the countries of the continent.
Last year, Israel exported $437.8 million worth of goods to Africa, while it imported $351 million worth of goods.
