Visit of delegation from House Appropriations Committee

Tomorrow (April 19) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres will meet with a delegation from the Appropriations Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The delegation is comprised of eight congressmen, among them the new Chairman of the Appropriations Committee’s sub-committee for Foreign Operations, Jim Kolbe (Rep.,Arizona), and the Acting Minority Senior, Nita Lowey (Dem.,New-York).

The delegation came in order to get acquainted with the area at first hand. It will also meet with Prime Minister Sharon and Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer and tour the border with Lebanon. A breakfast with businessmen will also take place.

This visit is part of a tour of the area that includes also visits to the Palestinian Authority, Jordan and Egypt.
