|Visit to Israel of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic – Oct 28 – Nov 1, 2001|

The President of Croatia, Stjepan Mesic, will arrive tomorrow (October 28) for a state visit to Israel, as the guest of President Moshe Katzav.
During the visit, President Mesic will meet with the President of Israel, the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and the Knesset Speaker. President Mesic will also address the Knesset plenum. In addition, he will visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Memorial, and he will lay a wreath at the grave of late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
This is the first visit of a Croatian President to Israel, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in September 1997.
During the visit, a cultural agreement between the two countries will be signed, with the aim of introducing a project on Holocaust Studies in Croatian schools – an issue of great importance to the President of Croatia.
