FM Shimon Peres meets with the EU delegation in Jerusalem (March 13)

A senior European Union delegation, headed by the President-in-Office of the EU, Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh, and with the participation of the Commissioner for External Relations Chris Patten and the EU Special Envoy for the Middle East Peace Process Miguel Moratinos, will come to Israel on a working visit tomorrow (March 13) in the framework of their visit to the region.

The delegation will meet with the President of Israel Moshe Katsav, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres. They will also visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes Remembrance Memorial.

The goal of the delegation’s visit to the region is to promote European financial aid to the Palestinian Authority and to hold their first talks with the new government headed by Ariel Sharon.
