Visit of the Czech Prime Minister to Israel

The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, will arrive today (February 16) for a working visit, as the guest of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

Prime Minister Zeman will be leading a large delegation including the Minister of Transport, Jaromir Schling, the Minister of Information, Karl Berzina, the Deputy Ministers of the Defense, Industry and Trade and Agriculture Ministries, as well as entrepreneurs.

In the course of the visit, Prime Minister Zeman will meet with the President of Israel, the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister, and the Mayors of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. He will visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority, and will lay a wreath by the grave of late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Prime Minister Zeman will also address the Institute of Foreign Relations, and will meet with representatives of the families of those who are missing in action.

The visit will also focus on economic issues, with the aim of promoting trade between the Czech Republic and Israel.
