FM Livni met today with Slovakian Foreign Minister Mr. Jan Kubis to discuss recent political developments in the region.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni met today (Tuesday, 10 July 2007) with her Slovakian counterpart Mr. Jan Kubis at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.

The two ministers held a lengthy discussion on recent political developments in the region. The talks centered on the formation of the new Palestinian government and the need to regain  political momentum. Slovakia is a member of the European Union and also a member of the UN Security Council.

Israel and Slovakia enjoy excellent bilateral relations. The ministers decided to endeavor to improve economic relations between the two countries and to hold joint business seminars. Slovakia has much to offer the Israeli business sector, especially in the fields of energy, aviation, the motor vehicle industry, security and communications.
