In anticipation of Hurricane Dean, which is expected to hit Jamaica, Cuba, Mexico, the Yucatan peninsula and the shores of southern Texas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises tourists who are visiting or planning to visit these areas to leave the shore areas as soon as possible and to move inland.

The Ministry recommends following the hurricane’s progress by means of the local media.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to stress that the decision to visit the areas mentioned above or to reside there is up to each individual’s own judgement and on his/her own responsibility. The Ministry would like to make clear that Israeli law does not prohibit visiting or residing in the areas mentioned above.
