Vice President of Macedonia heads a business delegation visiting Israel

Saturday night, 2 June, was Israel Night in Skopja, the capital of Macedonia, with a Euro-League soccer game between Israeli and Macedonian teams, followed by a festive concert given by the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Zubin Mehta. The special events continued on Sunday, 3 June, with the Hanoch Levin play, "The Servants" performed by the Israeli Simta Theatre. The play will continue on to Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, where the Israeli embassy has arranged for it to be performed as part of the Theatre in a Suitcase Festival.

Macedonian Vice-President Zivko Jankulovski, responsible for agriculture and education will be visiting Israel from 6-11 June at the head of a delegation of 40 Macedonian business leaders, During his visit he will meet with Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres, Agriculture Minister Shalom Simhon, and with officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He will tour institutes for agriculture research and development, visit Agrexco in Ashdod Port, lay a wreath at Yad Vashem, and tour Jerusalem, including the Old City.

Representatives of the Export Institute will organize meetings between the visiting Macedonian businesspeople and members of the Israeli business community, with the hope of exposing Israeli investors to the Macedonian market. Recently, the Israeli real estate company Industrial Buildings Corporation won a contract to build the Sunny Town project, a large project of homes and sports arenas in Skopja.
