Members of the Goldwasser, Regev and Shalit families will tomorrow (Thursday), 5 July 2007, leave for Portugal and France, where they will meet with senior leaders in order to urge them to work for the release of Israel’s abducted soldiers and to use their full authority to this end. 

On Friday, 6 July 2007, they will meet in Lisbon with Jaime Gama, President of the Assembly of the Republic (the Portuguese parliament) and with the Vice President of the local International Committee of the Red Cross. 

On Sunday, 8 July 2007, in Paris, at 18:00 (local time), they will hold a solidarity rally with the French Jewish community at the Synagogue de la Victoire. Approximately 5,000 people are expected to attend. The Chief Rabbi of France, French Jewish community leaders, members of the Goldwasser, Regev and Shalit families and friends of the abducted soldiers will address the gathering.

On Monday, 9 July 2007, the family members will meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
