The Department of Jewish Communities of the MFA’s Division for World Jewish Affairs is hosting the annual Diplomatic Seminar for Young Jewish Leaders in Jerusalem. The seminar is a MFA study program for young Jewish men and women of outstanding leadership potential from Jewish communities in Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia.
This year’s seminar is taking place between 1–14 July. The participants will attend lectures and briefings given by leading Israeli experts and participate in study tours to the north, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
The aim of the Diplomatic Seminar is to impart analytical tools for understanding the political and national security challenges facing Israel, and insight into the society, economy and culture of the Jewish-democratic state, to draw them closer to Israel and to turn them into goodwill ambassadors.
The participants were carefully selected by a professional appraising committee based on their qualifications and their ability to integrate into the community leadership in their home countries, or to obtain senior positions in the public or business sectors. The seminar program will expose participants to the rich fabric of Israeli life. Particular attention will be paid to challenges facing the Jewish people as a whole and the relationship between Israel and the Jewish Diaspora.
