The talks were held in the framework of the semiannual, strategic dialogue between Turkey and Israel.

Foreign Ministry Director-General Aaron Abramovich, today (Thursday), 3 April 2008, held talks in Ankara, in the framework of the semiannual, strategic dialogue between Turkey and Israel. He met with his Turkish counterpart, the Chairman of Turkey’s National Security Council and Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek.
In his meetings, Foreign Ministry Dir.-Gen. Abramovich raised the issue of Israel’s concerns over events in Gaza, the strengthening of Hezbollah and the progress in Iran’s nuclear program. Both sides stressed the importance of the cooperation and special relations that are important to both countries.
Foreign Ministry Dir.-Gen. Abramovich also signed a cooperation agreement regarding the training of junior diplomats and an agreement on cooperation between the two foreign ministries’ training programs.
