Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has expressed outrage over the terrorist attack that took place yesterday (Monday), 14 January 2008, at the Serena Hotel, in the Afghan capital of Kabul, while Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere and his delegation were in the hotel.
This act of terrorism, like its predecessors, which was aimed at innocent Afghan citizens and foreign nationals alike, joins a long series of terrorist attacks with a common origin, the goal of which is to sow chaos, bring about local and regional instability, and challenge the democratic and pluralistic way of life around the world.
Foreign Minister Livni shares in the grief of the Norwegian people and would like to convey her condolences to the family of Norwegian journalist Carsten Thomassen, who was murdered in the attack.
