Today (Thursday, 15 September 2011), Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon begins a visit to the United States which will include meeting senior American officials in Washington and speaking at the United Nations Palestinian Donors Conference and other events.
Today, Ayalon will meet with several high-ranking Members of Congress and the Senate as well as with senior American diplomat Dennis Ross and United States Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice.
On Sunday 18th September, the Deputy Foreign Minister will travel to New York to represent Israel and speak at the Palestinian Donors Conference at the United Nations, chaired by Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Ghar Store and hosted by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. On Monday 19th September, Ayalon will be speaking on behalf of Israel at a conference on international cooperation against terrorism at the United Nations.
During the week, Ayalon will be speaking at a number of other United Nations events, attending the General Debate in the General Assembly, briefing the media, meeting senior Jewish leaders and attending high profile Jewish community events.
