Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon met on Wednesday, 6 July 2011, with German Secretary of State Dr. Emily Haber.
DFM Ayalon explained to Dr. Haber Israel’s objections to unilateral moves: "Within these moves lies the danger of Palestinian disappointment, which would deal a fatal blow to the process and be impossible to control." Ayalon added that Israel and Germany agree on the importance of continuing the process and object to unilateral moves.
This evening, Ayalon will present Israel’s position at a debate with the foreign minister of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, at the annual conference on Israeli-German relations. Leaders and public opinion shapers will be in attendance.
On Thursday, 7 July, Deputy FM Ayalon will meet with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov in the framework of a joint Cabinet meeting in the capital city, Sofia. Ayalon and his colleagues will discuss current political issues, especially those relating to the anticipated initiative of the Palestinians at the UN in September.
