Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman met today (January 20, 2011) in Jerusalem with French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Michele Alliot-Marie.

During their meeting, FM Liberman stated that there is a dangerous discrepancy between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. "While Israel authorized an additional 5300 Palestinian jobs inside Israel last week, the Palestinian Authority has proposed a resolution to the Security Council accusing Israel every conceivable sin. This discrepancy cannot remain forever, and will cause the collapse of the relationship between Israel and the PA. Israel will not sit back and be criticized forever."

FM Liberman said that the MFA has a report on events initiated by Israel and the PA since the formation of the current government, and that while Israel has the Bar-Ilan speech, the removal of roadblocks, the 10-month moratorium on building in Judea and Samaria and the allocation of cellular communication frequencies, the PA has filed petitions at the Human Rights Council and the International Court in The Hague, denounced Israel in the Security Council and commemorated  terrorists by naming streets and town squares after them. Israel cannot allow this situation to continue."

FM Liberman stated further that the Arab League is active only in condemning Israel. We have not seen any effort from them on other important Middle Eastern issues, such as the situation in Tunisia, in Lebanon, in Iraq and other regions.
