Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Sunday (28 August 2011) with Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed his condolences to the Norwegian people and government over the terrorist attack that took place on July 22 and said that a country like Israel, which has greatly suffered from terrorism against its citizens, felt the pain and sorrow of the Norwegian people and identified with it.

On the diplomatic issue, Prime Minister Netanyahu criticized the intention of the Palestinian leadership to unilaterally turn to the UN and for its refusal to negotiate directly with Israel.  He pointed out that the Palestinians’ unilateral turn to the UN constitutes, "a violation of their obligations under the agreements that have been signed with Israel."
