During the past year IsraAID has been running a primary health care program in Terekeka County, South Sudan.

Terrakeka, situated 60 km from Juba, the capital city, has very poor health indicators and  a severe shortage of health personnel making its 140,000 inhabitants extremely vulnerable.

IsraAID staff on the ground has been providing training for 60 medical personnel from the entire county in order to increase the professional knowledge base of health workers, promote healthy living, improve maternal and child health, prevent, recognize and treat diseases.

In the next few months IsraAID plans to offer a Train-of-Trainer course and provide medical equipment to the health facilities to initiate emergency health and reduce maternal and child mortality in the county.
