Labor MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer submitted his resignation on Thursday to Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein. Ben-Eliezer said his ailing health prevents him from properly carrying out his duties as an elected official.
In his letter of resignation, Ben-Eliezer said: ”I look back with a sense of pride and satisfaction, and I am grateful to have had the privilege of serving the State of Israel and taking part in its development.”
Speaker Edelstein told Ben-Eliezer, ”You contributed a great deal to the State of Israel during your 60 years of service in the army and the public service. I respect you very much, and wish you, mainly, good health.”
