The Jerusalem Kivun Center, the one-stop employment center opened under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and the Jerusalem Municipality in March 2014, has just announced its 500th job placement.
The center, operated by the Kemach Foundation in cooperation with Manpower Israel and Pilat, was opened as part of a nationwide Economy Ministry initiative to increase employment among Haredi men from 45% in 2012 to 63% in 2020, with a budget of NIS 500 million. The Kivun Center in Jerusalem employs 11 full-time staff members and offers services in vocational assessment, training, educational and professional guidance, and job placement, with an annual budget of NIS 16 million. Currently, 9 one-stop Haredi employment centers are active throughout the country, with four additional centers expected to open in 2015. The Jerusalem center is the largest and most central, in terms of the Haredi sector, and its success is crucial for the success of the entire program.
