The ”Beautiful Israel in Green” photo exhibit was opened at the Knesset`s Chagall Hall on Tuesday. The exhibit, initiated and produced by the Council for a Beautiful Israel, features 47 magnificent large-format photographs of the Land of Israel`s trees and flora, which were taken by six photographers. The exhibit was on display at Ben-Gurion Airport for 14 months, and will now be seen at the Knesset after Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein immediately agreed to put it on display as part of the parliament building`s 50th anniversary. The photos are also expected to be displayed at the UN headquarters in New York.

The event was held in the presence of Minister of Environmental Protection Avi Gabbay, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Uri Ariel (HaBayit HaYehudi), opposition leader MK Isaac Herzog (Zionist Camp) – whose mother founded and headed the Council for a Beautiful Israel for 40 years – and the current chairman of the council, former MK Avraham Katz-Oz.

Minister Gabbay spoke about the Knesset`s ”wonderful” environment-related work, ”particularly during this session.” He said environmental issues have been promoted, almost always, by both the coalition and the opposition.
