The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in cooperation with the Israeli Model UN Association (IMUNA) and the Israeli Mission to the United Nations are offering a unique opportunity to represent Israel’s ‘future generation’ at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The position pertains to the various international forums dealing with issues relevant to ‘future generations’ (all operating under the auspices of the UN), in which 40 nations are represented by ‘youth delegates’. At the end of the screening process, the selected candidate will be required to participate in a training process, including professional workshops, work meetings and academic tours across Israel.

The representative will be placed with the Israeli Mission to the United Nations for a period of three months (September, October, November 2016) and will participate in relevant forums of the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee (dealing with social, humanitarian and cultural issues), deliver speeches and proactively liaise with the media. In addition, the representative will be asked to assist in the various routine tasks carried out by the Israeli Mission to the United Nations.

Upon his/her return to Israel, and until March 2017, the representative will be asked to share his/her experience with relevant target audiences, deliver talks on campuses and be available for media interviews.

The candidate will be employed as a Local Israeli Employee (AMI) by the Israeli Mission to the UN in New York, with salary and conditions offered by the Foreign Ministry. During his/her training in Israel and for the duration of his/her activities in Israel after his/her return, he/she will receive remuneration and reimbursement according to the standard student employment terms offered by the Israeli Civil Service.
