CABINET COMMUNIQUE

AT THE WEEKLY CABINET MEETING TODAY (SUNDAY), 16.01.94:

1. WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE MINISTERIAL COMMITTEE ON NATIONAL SECURITY, THE PRIME MINISTER AND DEFENSE MINISTER, THE DEPUTY CHIEF-OF-STAFF, THE POLICE INSPECTOR-GENERAL AND THE COORDINATOR OF ACTIVITIES IN JUDEA, SAMARIA AND GAZA BRIEFED THE CABINET ON ON-GOING MATTERS.

2. THE GOVERNMENT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROPOSAL OF THE TRANSPORT MINISTER, RECOGNIZED THE ESSENTIAL AND URGENT NEED TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE TERMINAL AT BEN GURION AIRPORT, BY BUILDING A NEW TERMINAL IN THE WESTERN AREA OF THE AIRPORT. THIS, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO THE TREMENDOUS INCREASE EXPECTED IN THE MOVEMENT OF PASSENGERS AND CARGO, OWING TO THE EXPECTED POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS.

3. THE GOVERNMENT APPROVED AN AVIATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN ISRAEL AND RUSSIA.

4. THE GOVERNMENT AUTHORIZED THE LABOR AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS MINISTER TO PRESENT, TO THE KNESSET, THE TREATIES AND RECOMMENDATIONS PASSED BY THE INTERNATIONAL LABOR ORGANIZATION.
