JERUSALEM, 26 JUNE 1994

CABINET COMMUNIQUE

(COMMUNICATED BY THE CABINET SECRETARIAT)

THE CABINET HELD A SPECIAL MEETING THIS AFTERNOON (SUNDAY), 26.12.93, WHICH WAS DEVOTED TO THE REPORT OF THE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY INTO THE MASSACRE AT THE TOMB OF THE PATRIARCHS IN HEBRON. THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS PASSED UNANIMOUSLY:

1. THE CABINET ADOPTS THE COMMISSION REPORT REGARDING THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE MASSACRE AT THE TOMB OF THE PATRIARCHS IN HEBRON, AND TAKES UPON ITSELF TO ACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS RECOMMENDATIONS.

2. THE CABINET HAS ASKED THE PRIME MINISTER AND DEFENSE MINISTER TO BRING, FOR CABINET APPROVAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PROPOSALS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS.

3. THE CABINET THANKS MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY, AND EXPRESSES ITS DEEP APPRECIATION FOR THEIR COMPREHENSIVE AND THOROUGH WORK.

THE CABINET WILL HOLD A DETAILED DISCUSSION OF THE REPORT WHEN THE PROPOSALS OF THE PRIME MINISTER AND DEFENSE MINISTER, ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS RECOMMENDATIONS, ARE BROUGHT BEFORE IT.
