Foreign Ministry Statement on Entry of Louis Farrakhan to Israel

(Communicated by the Foreign Ministry Spokesman)
December 14, 1997

The entry of Mr. Louis Farrakhan to Israel was not coordinated with the Israeli Government.

As long as incitement is prevented and public order maintained, the Government of Israel does not intend to limit Mr. Farrakhan’s movements.

As long as Mr. Farrakhan adheres to vicious and hateful language regarding Israeli and Jewish matters, he disqualifies himself as a partner for dialogue with Israel, and thus will not be received by any official representative of the Israeli Government.
