Yugoslav and Macedonian Ambassadors Present Credentials

The Ambassadors of Yugoslavia and Macedonia will tomorrow (Thursday) 11.9.97, present their credentials to President Ezer Weizman.

The new Yugoslav Ambassador, Mr. Mirko Stefanovic is the first since diplomatic relations were severed in 1967. Diplomatic relations with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) were renewed in October 1996. Israel opened its Embassy in Belgrade in December 1996, headed by Ambassador David Sasson.

The Macedonian Ambassador Ljupco Arsovski will act as non-resident Ambassador located in Athens, Greece.

Israel opened diplomatic relations with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in December 1996. Israel is represented in Skopje by non-resident Ambassador Ran Kuriel located in Athens.
