Deputy Foreign Minister Massalha Visits Jordan

Deputy Foreign Minister Nawaf Massalha leaves today (May 17) for a working visit to Jordan. In the course of the visit, Massalha will meet with Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdel Ilah Khatib.

At the meeting, due to take place tomorrow morning (18 May), Massalha will update Khatib on the latest political developments relating to the peace effort and on the IDF’s preparations for the withdrawal from Lebanon this July. In his talks with the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Massalha intends to emphasize Israel’s determination to carry out the withdrawal on the date it has set for itself. He will also stress the need for a broad international effort to restore Lebanese sovereignty in South Lebanon and to maintain peace and security in the area after the withdrawal.

During his visit, Deputy Foreign Minister Massalha will also meet with members of the Jordanian Parliament and senior representatives of the Jordanian media.
