Foreign Minister David Levy Meets Honduras FM

In a meeting today (Monday, 24/1) in Jerusalem between Foreign Minister David Levy and the Foreign Minister of Honduras Roberto Flores Bermudez, the visiting Foreign Minister announced that Honduras would consider moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem according to developments in the peace process.

Foreign Minister Levi thanked his colleague for the fact that Honduras has re-opened its embassy in Israel.

During their meeting, the two ministers discussed the peace process and strengthening bilateral ties. They also discussed increasing economic cooperation in the business sector, in the subjects of tourism, infrastructures, trade, agriculture and fishing.

Foreign Minister Bermudez warmly thanked Foreign Minister Levy for the aid Israel gave to Honduras in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch (October 1998).

An invitation for Honduran President Carlos Flores Sacusse to visit Israel was also discussed. The date of the visit will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
