German Foreign Minister to Visit Israel

The German Foreign Minister, Mr. Joschka Fischer, will be in Israel for a working visit from 4-6 June.

Foreign Minister David Levy will host a dinner for Fischer and also hold a working meeting with him, at the end of which the two will answer questions from the press.

During his stay, the visiting Minister will meet with the President, the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Knesset members from Meretz.

Minister Fischer will also lay a wreath at the Hall of Remembrance at Yad Vashem.

The purpose of Fischer’s visit is to receive an update on the latest developments in the Middle East peace process and to discuss various ideas for advancing bilateral Israeli-German relations and relations between Israel and the EU.
