Holiday greetings by PM Ehud Barak
(Communicated by the Prime Minister’s Media Adviser)

During the celebration of Hanukkah, Christmas, and Id El Fitr, we in the Holy Land are especially aware, and proud, of our deep historical connection to the world?s great monotheistic religions.

In each tradition, these holidays represent the triumph of light over darkness ? a time of rejoicing, of miracle and hope.

I wish all of the people of Israel, and millions of Muslims, Christians and Jews around the world, happy and joyous holidays. I also add my personal prayer that we in this region may share in the spirit of this special season and the goodwill find the way to brotherhood and lasting peace.
