Jerusalem, 10 October 2000

Ministry of Tourism Press Release
(Communicated by Tourism Ministry Spokeswoman)

Israel is open to tourists, however changes may occur in projected itineraries. The Ministry of Tourism provides updated information for visitors, for example if a given site or area is temporarily closed.

Israel prevents passage to certain areas if problems arise. However, the greater number of sites are open to visitors.

For those hesitating to come, we suggest that they obtain updated information from our overseas representatives or at the Ministry of Tourism.

We believe that things will calm down and tourists will be able to visit both sites in Israel and the Palestinian Authority areas.
