President of Armenia – Visit to Israel

Mr. Robert Kotcharian, President of Armenia, today (Thursday, 20 January) completed a three day working visit to Israel. During the visit, the Armenian President met with President Ezer Weizman, Prime Minister Ehud Barak, Speaker of the Knesset Avraham Burg, Minister of Interior Natan Sharansky, and Mayor of Jerusalem Ehud Olmert, as well as visiting the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Vad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Memorial.

President Kotcharian also participated in the Armenian Christmas celebrations which were held by the Armenian Partiarch in Jerusalem and Bethlehem with the participation of the head of the church in Armenia.

In the framework of the visit, means for improving cooperation between the two countries were agreed upon and agreements in the fields of health and protecting investments were signed.

The President of Armenia was accompanied by the Armenian ministers of health, culture and religions as well as the foreign minister.
